[Elecraft] KX1/pm in the Garden

   This morning i will be out enjoying the scenery in the famous Garden of 
the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, CO. i will be on 14060 +/- using my KX1 with 
a 10 foot whip while out hiking around the park. 9/30/06 Op times estimated to 
be 1615 to 1700z.

   The Garden of the Gods Park has an abundance of plant and animal life 
thoughout its 1,340 acres, 8 miles of trails, as well as the magnificent red 
sandstone rock formations, for which the Garden is best known. Many of these were 
generated by really big earthquakes and sculpted through time by erosion. The 
park is very popular and has about 1 million visitors each year. Maybe you have 
been there, can you remember the Kissing Camels, Balanced Rock, Ship Rock, 
Praying Hands, The Scotsman, or the face of Chief Manitou on the side of Gray 
Rock?
   i will have a special 'GOG' QSL Card  available, This is the most 
beautiful park in the State of Colorado.

   W0RW/pm/KX1 will be Pedestrian Mobile (Peripateticus Mobilus Elecraftus) 
hiking around in the park using a 10 foot whip and a 13 foot counterpoise. 
There aren't too many overhanging trees to snag my antenna so this should be 'a 
walk in the park'.
   i will be using the great 300 foot tall granite monoliths as reflectors to 
the east and west as i walk around.
   i will be totally powered by those exploding Sony LiIon cells.
