Hi Mike, When I was a younger old man, Ulrich Rhode (Rhode and Schwartz Instruments) and a collaborator wrote "Communications Receivers: DPS, Software Radios, and Design, 3rd Edition". I would recommend this book most highly for an EE. It gets highly technical in spots. Good luck, Bill NA7Y
