You will have surprises in abundance. You will find the lack of wiring amazing and wonder why Heath never discoverd modular construction. You will actually know what KISS means. That if you follow the simple children's game of "Wayne Says" it will work.
The biggest surprise will be in what you learn. It has been my pleasure to construct two K2 and one K1 radios. They have been the best electronics education I have ever had. And when all is said and done, and the final solder fillet done you will have the pleasure and honor of accomplishing something great.
My long time friend W(D)9DHI said you will have the greatest radio ever. I would not be so brave, as I still have Asian Iron that is better in a big pile. But I would tell you that when you have completed your build that you will never have a radio you will love more. Nor will understand better.
Enjoy your build. Have fun in constructing it the way that best fits your operating style. And welcome to the family. And with due respect to your family, I am pleased with your new addiction.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a K2. Will be my largest
project since the Heathkit SB104A thirty years ago.
Is there any surprises that I should watch out for?
Thanks
