[Elecraft] Resistance Checks

Put your DMM on "ohms" range, connect the black lead to a ground point
(where one of the 2D case fasteners goes if no where else is obvious,
although the Elecraft boards I can think of have ground test points as well,
usually a wire loop you put between two pc board pads, and the red DMM lead
to the point in question.

In the example you cite, the DMM may read anything from 11k Ohms up to
"infinity" or "overrange". Whatever your DMM indicates in Ohms with the
leads not connected to anything = "infinity" or "overrange", they vary a
lot.

A more common questions is, "the text says greater than 10k ohms but my DMM
says 5 megohms!! Is that okay?" Yep, greater than 10k is greater than 10K.

I probably will be doing the resistance checks later this weekend on the K2
control board. I know another one of my questions again. I have not done
resistance checks on circuit boards in many years and I have hit a wall with
this. For example: the instructions say, Test Point P2 pin 1, Signal name
12V and resistance (to ground) greater than 10K. For the life of me I cant
remember how to take these readings. It is probably something very easy, I
just cant figure it out. I hope someone has some good instructions on how to
take the readings. Thanks.
