John, hope you don't mind if I reply to the list...

What I like about the K2.
  - smooth silent QSK
  - low noise receiver
  - very good receiver performance on crowded bands
  - pride of buildership.
  - Simple low cost rig that performs beyond its size and price.
There's no fluff here.  No gimmicks to try to cover over basic
shortcomings.  It is all about performance IMHO.

Dislikes
  - S-meter:  I wish it was analog.  I wish it was more accurate.
  - VFO knob:  Rough edge.  FT-100 knob solved that.
  - Low power out.  I'd love 40 watts for the same price.
  - I want a notch filter, but where would you put the control knob?


The other rigs all had their positives but in the end they went to new
homes.  I wish I had the Argo 515 and the Century 22 but when I think
back to how they were to use, I realize my K2 is more to my liking.

Oh, I remembered some other rigs I've owned:
  TenTec Century 21 (2 of them)
  Drake TR-3
  Yaesu FT-101 (E, EX, ??)

Nice post Keith. What is it about the k2 you like? It's nice to hear
