Fred,
The older version 5 of Spectrogram has all the function you need for
aligning the K2 - it is available from Tom Hammond's website www.n0ss.net.
The 'how to do it' instructions are on the Elecraft website and Tom's
website. I have some additional information on my website
http://w3fpr.qrpradio.com in the article on K2 Dial Calibration.
All you need in addition to the program is a cable to go from the external
speaker jack to the soundcard line-in jack. A stereo cable with 3.5 mm
plugs on each end will do the job nicely. If you build a cable, you need
only connect the tip and sleeve of the plugs (left channel), the stereo
connection is not required, but having stereo plugs keeps the soundcard
input happy - and buying the cable is often less expensive than buying the
plugs and wire. Of course, you will have to manipulate your computer's
soundcard controls to activate the line-in input and adjust the volume
sliders to about 2/3 of max.
