I agree that stripping of the screw holes would be a problem.

Jim K4ZM, you're unit looks great.  This is not a kit though, right?   
Did you homebrew it and label it with Elecraft?
Does it require drilling holes in the cabinet, etc.?

My comfort zone is within kits at the present time.

.Well, I haven't started the RF board of the K2 yet so I guess  
there's time.
