Paul,
Yes, put the pads in place just in case anything shifts later. You could
tape them in place, use rubber cement, a dab of 'Shoe-Goo' or any other glue
that is advertized to bond with both rubber and fiberglass. Most glues will
bond with the fiberglass, but few will stick to rubber. You only need a
tiny bit.
