Bob,

Every 5kHz?  That sounds strangely like a CAL PLL problem.  Did you run CAL
PLL with the bottom cover off?, or is RFC15 on the bottom of the RF Board
open (check it with a continuity test - it may read the same voltage on both
ends even though it is open).

It is posible that the frequency shift is so slight that you did not notice
it in normal operation, but tuning slowly with a stronger signal hass
revealed its presence.

I suggest re-setting the Reference oscillator and then running CAL PLL
followed by CAL FIL - change each BFO by a bit and then set it back to where
it was.  Then re-check to see if the condition is still present.
