Dean,
First I must ask - have you done anything between the keyup and the next
keydown?
For instance, if you change bands, the K2 must reset its power sensing
circuits to determine the new value of ALC that must be applied to maintain
the requested power output. This is normal.
OTOH, if you are experiencing this power fluctuation when no buttons have
been pushed (or knobs moved) on the K2, then you may have a problem with
either the power sensing circuit or the ALC circuit - check the soldering
first.
