[Elecraft] K2-no transmit on SSB ?

Gary,

I would not be very concerned for the time being about the signal voltages
that you mentioned.

First it would be nice to know whether you have a problem with the mic or
the K2. I realize that the mic comes fully assembled and should be good,
but if it has not been used before, it is on the suspect list. If you can
find anyone else with a K2 wired for the Elecraft mic configuration, you can
easily check the mic.

On the KSB2 board, anything is suspect. First, check the orientation of all
the diodes. All the cathodes should be positioned away from the board.

Check especially D14 to be certain you have placed the cathode lead in the
proper hole - the correct one is to the right of the diode body.

And, last, but not least, check the soldering. The KSB2 board is quite
dense and solder bridges are possible. When you have finished checking the
soldering, re-check it, and when you have finished that - check the
soldering. Soldering is the first suspect and incorrectly placed components
are the second most common problems.
