Ron
Check the position of the slide switch.
It gets moved sometimes and the voltmeter
disappears.
Good luck and 73

Subject: [Elecraft] Voltmeter lost after converting XC control board
tosupport KIO2

Lads,

I have one of the field test K2s (SN 79, current 2.04 firmware) that
I've recently added a KIO2 board to. To do this I needed to perform
the mods for the XC control board to make it compatible with the KIO
2 (which I have done). This included cutting one trace to the MCU
pin 25, adding two new jumpers and a .001 cap.

After performing the mod (and checking my work twice) I installed the
KIO2 according to the instructions. Changed the sidetone, checked
the voltages, and even ran the test sequence with Hyper-terminal.
All worked OK. Radio works fine with TRX manager, which is also good.

My problem is that I have now lost the voltmeter, although the
ammeter works. So, consequently, I get LO BATT reminders every so
often and the volts/current display shows 0.00V 0.3A. !

Every other aspect of the radio seems to work EXCEPT the voltmeter.
I checked for shorts, bridges, etc.. and could not find any.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction as I'm now at a loss as
to what I could have done to break this feature.

K2, Sn 0079, Firmware 2.04, XC control board

KBT2
KDSP2

Thanks for the help.
