[Elecraft] High Altitude Solder

I had the same problem, until I discovered that underwater solder works
just as well. It's all about the pressure differences. I use the fresh
water variety, since I do most of my mountain topping on inland
mountains. I get it from Cousteau Electronics Supply, they are on the
web. You do have to be careful when you go up the mountain. If you go
too fast, the point to point wiring gets the bends and that plays havoc
with the efficiency.
By the way, you can still use your rig in your ham shack if you immerse
it in distilled water, overnight. This treatment keeps the solder
active for about a week.
Enjoy the rest of the day
