Sorry to be even pickier...

Heinlein USED the term TANSTAAFL  in "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress"  in 
1966. The term had been in common use in economics for more than a decade 
before that.

I first ran across it as TINSTAAFL in economics classes in '61  (I have a 
Masters in Economics), and at the time it was attributed to Prof. Alvin 
Hansen a noted Harvard economist.  TINSTAAFL is "There is no such thing..."  
so it is the same thing with proper grammar. I have seen it used as early as 
the mid-50's. But TANSTAAFL precedes TINSTAAFL and goes back to the 40's 
though I don't remember the context for that.

T*NSTAAFL is at the heart of economic and environmental issues. It's not 
surprising it surfaced there first.
