[Elecraft] K1 Assembly Problems

Hi all,

 

I've just got through to the end of the K1 assembly and came up with a
couple of problems - hopefully someone can help point me in the right
direction.

 

On page 46 of the K1 manual, there's a number of DC voltage tests as
part of the RF board Tx alignment and test.  I got some different
voltages to those required:

 

            Pin                   Required                       Actual

            J7 - 1               5.1-6.7                          4.9

            U9 - 3               6.0-7.0                          5.6

            U9 - 6               6.0-7.0                          5.6

 

Is this okay?

 

The next thing I found was during the filter board alignment (I've gone
for the 4-band option).  Page 19 of the manual specifies a 5.0W test, by
selecting 5.0 using OUT menu entry - then enter TUNE on each individual
band.  I did this and got 5.0W on 7MHz and 14MHz, but only 4.1W on 10MHz
and 21MHz.

 

Would appreciate any advice/direction here.  Everything else went to
plan - and I've done a visual inspection for assembly faults.
