I measured 58 ma before and 68 ma after with the 200 ohm resistor. This
agrees with what Elecraft is saying. I didn't try the 330 ohm resistor, but
Wayne says about 6 ma. I was satisfied with the output at 10ma and saving
4ma isn't significant to me since the K1 is usually connected to a 7aH
battery!
It's VERY easy to change the resistor if you don't like what you get. Four
screws pop the whole front panel assy off. Removing one screw, one nut and 3
knobs gives you complete access to the component side of the front panel
board. Change the resistor, reassemble and you're done. Ten minutes from
beginning to end.
