Hi Bruce
No, Ant1/Ant2 is for selecting two main antennas.
You have a menu option for R2 On/Off, or you can
program one of the two option buttons to select
the R2 On/Off menu item, then just punch the
top left panel button to toggle between On and Off.
I find that faster than turning the knob.
The K2 works very well with separate receiving antennas
on 160m. I use the Flag loop here, plus a rotatable
tuned loop. The Flag actually works FB through 40m.
You can find a ton of Flag loop info at

Good luck and 73

Subject: [Elecraft] K2 - 160 mtrs
I'm finally getting around to using my K2 on 160 mtrs - is the idea of the
K2 that a separate receiving antenna for 160 mtrs can be attached to the bnc
connector on the back (K160RX option) while using the regular bnc connector
to connect to the 160 mtr antenna for transmitting? - one switches to the
receiving antenna from the front panel using ANT1/2? - 72 Bruce.
