[Elecraft] K2/100 CW question

When I switch to CW the signal that was an S9 in SSB is now only an
S1-3. Weak signals disappear. I've set the filters centered on the 600
Hz side tone and when the signal is dead center is when it's S1-3. I've
tried reverse CW and it's the same. Is there a problem or is this
normal? Right now I don't think I could have any contacts on CW as only
the very strong signal get through.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
