[Elecraft] Desoldering

Rowland,

We had a discussion on the reflector some time ago about the Circuit
Specialist version of the Hakko, and the pros and cons of it. It
SEEMED to be a direct copy of the Hakko, (right down to board layout
and parts placement and selection) but the main difference was the
quality of the tips. The person that had one had reported the tips
are difficult to tin, don't like to stay "wet" from the Solder like
the Hakko tips, and so on.

Problem is, I DON'T remember if the TIPS are interchangable or
not. If they are, that is where you would be wise to invest in the
Hakko tips. If they don't, then it may be a dicer situation.

You might want to look back through the archives. The thread to look for is:

RE: [Elecraft] Possible REALLY GOOD BUY on T/C Soldering Stn

I am looking forward to your reports on the product.
