"Really small footprint" almost certainly means a switching power supply.
Unless it is VERY CAREFULLY built, it'll likely spew RF hash out across the
whole radio spectrum from d-c up into the lower VHF.
In general, the cheaper the supply, the louder the hash.

Speaking of power supplies, one of the local electronic stores here
in Houston has a neat looking 0-5 volt/0-3 amp power supply with dual
digital readouts. Really a small footprint and the price is 54 bucks. I have
never shopped for these, but can see the need since I am doing all of the
projecting and kit building here lately. Does this sound like a good
price???
