[Elecraft] K2 Headphone Jack Problem

Hi all,

 

My newest K2 (#4865) has developed a problem. The headphone jack, J2 on the
RF board, does not mute the speaker when a headphone is plugged in. I can
poke around into J2 from the front panel with a plastic alignment tool and
sometimes be able to make a temporary fix, but this is unsatisfactory. I
looked through the Elecraft website this afternoon, thinking I had read
something about this sometime ago, but was not able to find any references
to it.  

 

I suspect that J2 is defective but thought I'd ask this august body for
advice before tinkering with it. I don't believe any of the innards of the
jack are open for inspection anyway. 

 

I get the posts in daily digest form, so if you have a suggestion, you could
