[Elecraft] KNB2 "not installed"

The 'not inst' message means only one thing - that the AUXBUS signaling is
not happening.
In the case of the KNB2, only P1 pin 7, C9, R6, and U3 pins 3 and 4 are part
of that circuit.  Check each for proper values and good soldering.  You may
want to recheck the soldering at the RF Board header pin too.

Next, check for 6 volts at U3 pin 1 and the resistance from U3 pin 8 to
ground, it should be zero because that pin is grounded - if you find
anything higher than zero check your soldering.
