I agree.  Recently I had to buy a new computer for my XYL, who already 
had a flat-panel monitor.  Dell offered a nice one for $100 with the 
computer, so the old one ended up in my shack.  It definitely is more 
RF-quiet, as well as being easier on the eyes.

Having said that, most of the noise from CRTs is radiated by the cables. 
  I would wrap as much of the power cord and video cable as possible 
around big ferrite cores.  If your problem is mainly on 160 or 80 meters 
you might best use the 43 mix, which is more effective at low 
frequencies.  Simple snap-on beads are ineffective at HF.  My attempts 
to shield the whole monitor with aluminum foil, etc., also did not 
produce good results.
