Tony:

I have two K2/100s in SO2R using the two sound card setup of N1MM
logger. The sound cards handle all of the headphone and xmit audio
switching. The only thing I've added is a circuit in both K2s that dims
the display backlight when that K2 is not the active radio. I also
needed to add a small logic circuit to defeat the PTT when in cw mode,
since my amps are set up for full QSK just switched off the K2 amp
switch output.

Other than the operator (me) being unable to use the setup to the
maximum degree, technically it works great. It gives you the options of
stereo headphones or latched mode for receive, and with the WinKey keyer
I use it also switches the cw to the proper radio. Another advantage
for phone is that it runs the mike through the sound card at all times,
so I can use the sound card to boost the output of the Heil HC-4 mike
(which is notorious for low output into the K2).

I have not tried using both on the same band. Could probably be done
using the receive antenna input with some switching to protect the front
end. I have bandpass filters that are switched by KRC-2s to reduce
fundamental power between bands. Except for perhaps 40 fone in a dx
contest, I never have needed to listen on two frequencies at once on the
same band. I've never owned a FT1000 so maybe I don't know what I'm
missing.......
