Having just started with the KX-1 kit I realise that what I need more than 
anything is the eyesight I had 25 years ago. So maybe a gift certificate for 
a few replacement body parts would not go amiss.

Oh how small the 1/4 watt resistors have become; they just don't use the 
same quality colour paint that they used to.

At least I have a very well equipped shack with good German tools, 
especially the Weller iron and PCB holder. And without the magnifying lamp I 
would be well and truly upstream without a paddle.

It was so much easier in the old days. Maybe the K3 should be a nostalgia 
radio, 40 lbs in weight using pure value technology :-)
