[Elecraft] Off topic: beginner kit recommendations?

Hobbytron has a lot of simpler kits to choose from
(<http://www.hobbytron.com/electronickits.html>), including a soldering starter
kit (<http://www.hobbytron.com/solder_kit.html>).
