Agree about coverage, but 350 - 500kHz is ample for my particular interests.
I think that I chose an IF of 14 MHz for 6m and 2m for reasons of receiver
spurious responses or transmitter spurii, or both, but as the choice was
made about 50 years ago I won't swear to this before re-running an analysis.
