I am wondering if we are not getting off topic... I am not sure all these
metric stuff has to do with Elecraft radios.

Older hams this side will recall school exercise books which had all the
imperial measurements printed on the back. Horse racing still deals with
furlongs (the length of a furrow...) and cricket pitches are a chain (22yds)
"ten chains = one furlong". Ah, Happy Days!
