Martin,

The safe operating level will be determined primarily by heat.  For
continuous operation, you may want to consider an auxiliary fan pulling air
up and away from the heat sink fins - a muffin fan will do nicely and can be
salvaged from an old computer.  By my recollection devices rated for
continuous duty can handle only about 1/3 the power that may be used in ICAS
service, and that would make the continuous power rating for the KPA100
somewhere between 35 and 40 watts.

Yes, the metal frame of the transformer constitutes one turn (it is
center-tapped).
