Ron, Doug,
I guess this could be the BBC promotional picture on their posters?

A poster or picture on the wall of the BBC World Service? I'm intrigued.
My operating desk has a "bridge" or small shelf unit that the K2 sits under.
Several things have been on top of the bridge: a solid-state superhet of my
own design that I built some years ago (with a white front panel and black
cabinet), a vacuum tube superhet that was a construction article in QST a
couple of years ago (with a brass front panel), and more recently a
link-coupled antenna tuner feeding my open wire lines (in a dark brown box
with a large tapped coil visible on top).
I don't recall what I may have passed onto the BBC. I'm a regular BBC
listener and fan. I frequently get asked if something I've written here or
elsewhere about radio can be used. As long as it's in support of Ham radio,
I always say yes.
Maybe I need to take a trip to London to check it out! I've not been to the
BBC facility there.

Forgive me if this has been discussed to death already, but I'm not on the
list all the time.
Due to my interest in books, sailing, theatre, etc., I come to the UK
regularly, and often have gazed at the Mecca of SW broadcasting while
waiting at Aldwych for the bus; and patronize the BBC shop on the ground
floor regularly.
It turns out, another member of the Arthur Ransome Society works as an audio
engineer for the BBC WS, and was on duty late last night, so gave me a
midnight private tour of Bush House. We were going up a large staircase and
I saw in the distance a WS promo poster with what looks like a homebrew rig,
so I go closer. It turns out, it's Ron AC7AC quoted about the WS, and the
homebrew rig is on top of a K2 in the photo. So, there's currently a photo
of a K2 on the wall of a staircase in the home of the BBC World Service.
Perhaps Ron can give us more information about the homebrew rig shown?
