[Elecraft] 40 meter reciever not tuning

Roland,

I suggest you start by re-checking the VCO voltage readings as specified on
page 61 of the manual.  At the time they were done, you ahould have had all
voltages within range.  Ask yourself what has changed in the VCO area since
that time - the answer would normally be 'nothing'.  You may want to tell us
what the VCO Voltage readings actually are.

For your speaker problem, if you know the speaker and external jack are OK,
the only thing left is the contacts in the headphone jack.  Make certain the
headphone jack is properly soldered at all pins - they are more difficult
than most to solder since the pins do not project through the board.  It is
possible that you can have a bad headphone jack, but check the soldering
first.
