Dave, I have both, the K1 and K2. The K2 is my mobile rig and the K2 is my main shack rig. One thing to consider: If you're into chasing DX, it's a lot easier (IMHO) to work split using the K2's dual VFOs. It can be done with the K1 (I've done it myself) but it's easier to keep track of your split on the K2. 73 de Larry W2LJ
