Same here -- my four year old son loves to diddle with the radio, and "tests mode" keeps it legal.

I got a laugh the other day when he actually said, as I sat down at my desk ready to operate, "hey Daddy, the K2 is not in test mode."  Sure enough...

These four year olds know way more than we assume.
