[Elecraft] XG1 help

I have a newly built XG1.
Wanted to try to calibrate the s-meter on my K2.
Problem is very weak output tone on 50 uv setting.
Not sufficient to light s-meter.
Can't hear tone at all on 1 uv setting.
All resistance checks are ok on XG1, all components look to be in correct 
locations, soldering looks good.
Connected to radio using the male-male adapter.
Bad xtal?
Any ideas appreciated.
