You just can't beat the price / performance of the K2/100! The
FT1000MP series (plain, MkV, and MkV Field) are all great radios. Far
superior to the TS940. The TS2000 isn't that great an HF radio --
it's designed more for lots of buttons and VHF capability. The IC 756
Pro series are respectable rigs, but most contesters prefer the
FT1000MP.

I don't have any experience with the IC 756 Pro. I have used the
FT-1000D and every flavor of the 'MP.

All these rigs are going to be $3000 or so new. On the used market,
you can find the FT-1000MP (plain) for a bit less than you can buy
and build a new K2/100 with all the goodies.

Another rig to consider in this price range is the Ten-Tec Orion (and
Orion II).

Of course, your best bet is to buy a second K2! Barring that, I'd
recommend the Orion and then the FT-1000MP series.
