Howdy Folks,
First off thanks for the fun on QRPTTF today. Pat and I taught the
last session of ARECC level 3 and drove home. Got a sandwich on the way
and stopped near downtown Buxton. I met up with my cohort with my rig and
gear to hook up with his two rigs and sundry other bits of gear. We had
fun working together to obtain about 25 contacts on 20 and 40 meters. Not
as good as it could have been but not as bad as it could have been
either. It was fun to work all we could but I do know we missed a few we
would have liked in the logs. K1, K2, and ATS-3 each had their time in
the sun (?) working contacts.
Now that ARECC is off our plate we can concentrate on school and the
job searching. It also leaves a bit more time to get on the air. Such as
tomorrow. May day is a very nice day to get on the air and see if your
rig will working into Buxton, Oregon. The Elecraft CW Net is low key. We
exchange serial numbers, weather reports, signal reports, and news of our
families. Just a pleasant way to say howdy on a Sunday afternoon. Might
just get a chance to harass W0NTA about not hearing us call him ;) But
then there was the ever elusive K3ESE. He would pop up only to burrow
back into the noise before we could catch him. Seemed to be everywhere
though. We would hear his call bandied about and then a subtle, often
highly elusive, CW signal way underneath. Then he'd zip off again. Never
did land him. Others were more lucky! We got them first call.
It is off to work on my robot crafting more assembly language ISRs to
get the sonar tweaked and ready. The AI apps will be ready to roll soon
too. But if you want to get on the air tomorrow ECN is ready to take your
call.

Oh, rigs? I think the K1 was a fun rig to play with. We used that one
for most of the time I was working with Karl. Maybe one day I will build
one for camping. The ATS-3 has its nice features but the K1 has its too.
    See you tomorrow,
       Kevin. KD5ONS
