[Elecraft] KPA800/1500 count me IN...

I have a K1 for CW and a Icom 706 for SSB. I live in an apt above a church I
pastored for 9 years before I retired. Antenna wise I have a G5RV from
TenTec and a Gap Challenger Vertical. The ground below the antennas was all
swamp and it was filled in in the 50s and am not sure it gives me any
advantage. With the 100 watts from the 706 I work anything I hear.
Frequently the reports I get are 15-20 DB over S9. Perhaps if my only goal
in life was to work contests I would trick myself into thinking I needed an
Amp. <g> I have had amps through out the 45 years I have been a ham but I
always come to the conclusion eventually that I don't need it. I have not
always lived in an apt... I once had a 70ft tower with a 3-element beam and
a 2 meter beam at 80 feet.
