1 KHz might be enough for a K2, but I suspect that you'll get a lot of
complaints and bad feelings toward the ECN (and perhaps Elecraft) if you
stay that close to the beacon frequency.
Why not stay down in the part of the CW band more commonly-used for nets and
QSO's. You don't have to sit on top of the QRP calling frequency at 14.060,
but a few KHz away should work. And try using an "odd" frequency as others
have suggested. Something that is not an even kHz or an even 5 or 10 kHz.
Something like 14.063.5 kHz for example.

Change of plans.
Lyle has informed me that even though the frequency was quiet for the
whole time I was listening there are folks transmitting somewhere. So
let's try 14101 kHz instead. If the contesters are still using 14050 kHz
at 2300z let's try 14101 kHz to see if we can make contact.
But if there is a beacon on 14100 kHz it must be an awfully long way from
here, they are transmitting at the normal 100, 10, 1, 0.1 watt sequence,
or the bands were not propagating diddly at the time I was listening
(2300z). This does not bode well.
