[Elecraft] Yaesu MH-31 Dynamic Microphone connection to K2

   As part of the build, there are instructions for wiring the 8-pin mic 
connector on the K2 to accommodate various microphones.  The MH-31 is 
the same as the standard configuration for Yaesu given in the manual.  
You should have no problems.

   In doing so, you might consider doing the following: rather than 
wiring jumpers directly to the mic plug block P1 on the front-panel 
board, you might get a section of two-row (2 x 8) PCB socket to match.  
This will slip right onto P1 with its short ends (the ones made to go 
into a PCB) sicking out.  You can wire the Yaesu mic configuration to 
these.  Then you can easily change mic configurations if you decide to 
get another kind of mic.  Just unplug the socket and build a new one.  
You may have to snip a bit off the short ends to get enough room for it 
to fit between the front-panel board and the control board.
