FYI there is now a Micro M+ Portable which is very compact and sealed in
Epoxy so it is impervious to the elements. I picked one up at Dayton
from
SES for $35. I plan to use mine with a 5W panel and a smallish gel cell
to power my K1 for Field day.

Well, GOLOG by NK0E does a pretty good job of logging and dupe checking
but the
output is only a text file. I have considered writing some Perl or
perhaps Python code
to massage the output for various events including FD but haven't had
the time yet.
Checkout earthlink.net/~golog/.
GOLOG also works well with the Palm Keyboards, which BTW for older Palm
models can be had new on Ebay for about $US10 (thats where I got mine
for
my Palm III).
