All the larger solar panels seemed to come with a blocking diode included 
internally or in the connection box. There is normally also an additional diode 
connected internally so as to mitigate the effects when part of the panel is in 
the shade and part in the sun. As the larger panels can have solar cells in 
parallel on well as the normal series combination to reach the specified 
voltage and current output. The result otherwise would have been for the panel to 
shunt it's own output.
