[Elecraft] OT. Long Loop Antennas.

Hi Dave,
For the past 17 years I've used a 1200 ft total length horiz loop. Just
about square in shape & about 45 ft height.
I feed it with homebrew open wire line (ladder line caused too much swr
variation in the rain). Feed point on mine is the southern corner - closest
to the house.
For 80 to 10m (incl WAEC) I use z-match ATUs, but for 160m I tie the feeders
& use a L-match.
The loop is just about omni-directional on all bands & has worked so well
that my tri-band yagi sits under the house slowly corroding!
I do not use a Balun.
My recommendation is GO FOR IT!
