The freq counter input transistor, MPS5179 (Control Board Q9), transistor is
very sensitive to ESD. I managed to kill mine somehow and when I replaced
it, as suggested by Gary at support at elecraft.com, the counter functions were
back. Gary also mentioned a substitute that could be used temporarily in
place of the MPS5179 but in checking my saved e-mail messages, I find that
particular one is not there.
