[Elecraft] SSB adjustment

OK. I've decided to have another go at getting my K2-100 to work better
on SSB. It's about a year old now and it is great on CW - it has found
a lot of DX and stateside contacts both at the QRP level, at 100 watts
and at QRO with an external amp. But I've not used it very much for
SSB. The 2 or 3 times I have, the audio reports have been less than
enthusiastic. I haven't been in a great hurry to do this because I
operate maybe 90 percent CW.

There is a significant difference in transmitted audio between upper and
lower sideband. I set up SSB using Spectroscope as I did with CW. CW
worked fine but SSB setup was not so fine. So, I'm considering trying
to tweak by transmitting into a dummy load and listening with another
receiver while I tweak the BFO settings.

Is that a reasonable method or is there something more elegant? Of
course, I could use the numbers in the owner's manual and I might try
that. But I would like suggestions. I know this has been discussed
many times in the past but I guess I am a slow learner.
