A smaller remote control head unit for goin mobil!  Use smaller knobs and
swithches on same LCD with extra LEDs to also remote the SWR lights on the
KAT.  Run the mic and exernal speaker off the actual body of the k2.
Something like how the new Kenwood 480 SAT or D700 2m/440 are mounted.

Going small enough to make a difference may require surface mount parts but
Im up for the challenge!

For those of us wanting a clean HF mobil setup like the Kenwood but wanting
a Quality Radio like an Elecraft! (I drive a lil Honda Civic with not much
room in it)

Stan I see your in Houston Im over here in Beaumont, do you ever get on the
Saltgrass link system uh 443.825 and 146.920 over their.  You doing anything
for field day with the k2?  Are you into outdoors type ops like activating
lighthouses or not?
