Hi Paul
I had to do a double-take on your call, based on your
question But after I looked it up, I see that you're
a newer ham. Welcome aboard! Lots to learn ...
By the way, tubes are ANYTHING but "old style" as you
described them! Why, Eimac just weeks ago came out
with a brand-new tube model for the ham and broadcast
market!
You didn't say what amp you have but it sounds a lot
like an SB-200.
> 1 - Ant. Relay
> 2 - RF Input
> 3 - ALC
The back of a K2/100 has an RF output and a keying
line. The RF output of the K2 goes to the RF input of
the amp, and the ant. relay is the amplifier keying
line.
The K2 does not use external ALC. Ignore this
connection.
Adding an amplifier to a station is something that is
best learned by watching what others have done. True
hamming is best done communally; go visit a buddy's
shack and see how he/she has stuff connected, or have
him/her come see you. Amplifiers (never "linears")
are great accessories to have in your station. But
they can also be troublesome, and also quite
dangerous. Make sure you get the Elmering you need
before delving into the QRO world.
