Hi Martin,

Thanks for the great report! I personally worked a number of the K2s on 
Banaba, which was fun for me as one of the designers. It was gratifying to 
hear the positive K2 comments by the operators on the air. :-)

We are working with the expedition members to find out what happened to the 
couple of K2s that appeared to be damaged in transit. Our prime suspicion is 
the stronger X-Ray inspections being performed outside of the US, which may 
partially erase EEPROM and EPROM memory chips. We will post to the list when 
we have a definitive understanding of what happened.
