<snip>
I currently have a basic K2 (no options). This is my one and only rig.
... It would also be interesting to see how many people use their K2 as
their primary rig.

Several years ago I got back on the air after 25 years being away from ham
radio. At the time I was completely unfamiliar with what was available rig
wise but wanted to build something myself so I did some web searching and
came up with Elecraft as my choice. I ordered the K2 with SSB and the audio
filter and later added the antenna tuner. I originally bought the SSB
module with the idea of trying psk31 and other data modes but have been
having so much fun on cw I haven't gotten around to connecting the rig to
the computer. Hi! (I have had a grand total of 2 SSB QSO's with good
reports so I know the ssb module is working. Hi!)
500 QSO's later (all at the 10 watt level) (45 states and 77 countries) and
I can say I am very happy with the choice I made and with the K2 being my
only rig.
I do think about adding the PA at times and may do so as the sun spot cycle
continues it decline, but so far I have had no problem getting through with
the 10 watts. I have also been thinking about doing some weak signal
VHF/UHF work in the future so I am looking at the transverters now, but
even then the K2 would be my base rig.
My 2 cents worth
