Hi Paul, I got the same thrill this time last year when I fired up my
K1#1534. I couldn't believe such a complex radio would work first time. 20m
rx alignment took some time but I just needed to be patient and get more
wire out until I could hear a signal, you only need the faintest of sigs
and the trimmers peak up no problem.

The K1 was my first ever rig so double the excitement when I got an
immediate call back to my very first cq on 40m. Enjoy the kit Paul and take
your time with the tx part, check everything thoroughly. Maybe see you on
the air one day.

Hello all:

It was just a box of parts when it got here in February. For the first
time last night K1 No. 01809 was attached to an antenna after the receiver
alignment was completed. And I'll be darned if it didn't work. It is
receiving and switching bands and all kinds of neat stuff.

I just had to tell somebody. I still have not had to study the
troubleshooting section of the manual. It just lit up and went to work.

Now on to the transmitter section.

Having fun in Michigan.

Paul
