Trev, I am sure that the new wire will do fine. In the future you might want
to visit your local Home Depot or Lowe's stores where you can pick up 500 ft
spools of #14 stranded insulated "house wire" which make an excellent
antenna wire. A 500 ft spool used to sell for around $15. I have used it for
years for many different antennas with never a failure.

Watch out for kinks in your solid copper clad wire and for any evidence of
the copper coating flaking off or being scratched off or whatever thereby
exposing the steel wire. It will rust and weaken rapidly after that.

Get that thing working by Monday evening so we can work you in the Spartan
Sprint!
